The Ottawa Area Trail Riding Equestrian Community (OATREC) is a volunteer-run organization dedicated to maintaining and developing equestrian trails in the Larose Forest for over 20 years.
To serve our local equestrian community, OATREC:
Equestrian use of the forest is managed under an official Memorandum of Understanding with the United Counties of Prescott Russell.
OATREC is registered with Corporations Canada.
To serve our local equestrian community, OATREC:
- Actively liaises with the United Counties of Prescott-Russell for ongoing maintenance and future development of equestrian trails (see Our Projects page for details)
- Ensures compliance with UCPR requirements by coordinating insurance for members and day pass holders
- Effectively and transparently manages funds
- Encourages and promotes the safe use of the Larose Forest equestrian trails, including for competitions and special events (e.g., Ontario Competitive Trail Riding Association).
